Helping Honduras Kids (5/20)

Helping Honduras Kids (HHK) is a non-profit VOLUNTEER organization that manages a Children's Home (ORPHANAGE), caring for 22 children who have been abandoned, abused and/or neglected on the North Coast of HONDURAS, in La Ceiba. Since the Honduran government does not currently allow adoptions from private orphanages such as ours, we are looking for sponsors who will help support these children.

In Latin America this is called a padrino or madrina.(godfather or godmother)HHK has no salaried administrative employees and minimal overhead expenses, so most donations go directly to helping the children! Many of these children have so little and are in great need. HHK needs your generous donations and support to truly change the life of a Honduran child! Click on the Donation-Net box to the right to sponsor a child for only $30 per month ($1 dollar a day) or a family for $100 per month. HHK was founded as a benevolent 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization in February 2006.

In the Cangrejal river basin, located on a hill high above the river, HHK has our private, free Jungle school It is a K-6 school with 100+ children in three classrooms with three teachers. This school provides educational opportunities to help the children overcome poverty. We also need sponsors for all these children to help them with their educational needs and to feed them daily. Our Hogar de Amor children also attend this school.

We are also helping 30 children living with their Grandmas in El Naranjo, farther up the Cangrejal river road; 10 children in High School, and about 100 children living in 2 campesino (peasant) villages, where we provide food, clothing, outings and vitamins.

In total, HHK is  helping >200 children, and feeding nearly 100 daily. It is a 24/7 labor of love. We hope you will help us help them!
